Well that month flew by.....and I promise I'm getting your messages.....and I'm trying to get better at responding....but I'm just tired to be honest, and not exactly sure how to answer the questions of "how we are doing" and "what do we need", bc most days we don't know and it changes often. Once we get the hang of everything and think we have it under control - it changes.
All I know is this is hard, really really hard... dealing with the mental overload and physical exhaustion for both of us. But we are trying our best to stay positive and moving forward, and I promise we do appreciate all of the thoughts, messages, gifts, and prayers. The highlight of our day sometimes is talking about who reached out or sent us something. I helps to know you are thinking of us even if we are not responding immediately.
So, alot has happened since the last update but basically Greg has been doing dialysis 3 times a week at a dialysis center while his abdomen healed from surgery done in the hospital. The diet still sucks, but he will get some reprieve with that with the new at home dialysis. There are ALOT of drs appointments, seems like almost everyday sometimes. This is obviously a huge lifestyle change for him which has taken a toll, but I am proud of him for handling as well as he has.
This week we started training for in home dialysis, which will be up to 4 times a day 30 mins at a time, or up to 10 hours a day (with 9 of those being a night and one mid day) depending on how he handles it mentally and physically.
So this weekend we will be "redecorating" our house to make him a "man cave/dialysis center" in our master bedroom. As well as purging and deep cleaning to get the house organized and ready for 60 boxes of equipment arriving next week I want to go to sleep just thinking about it
For the transplant process, we have a few more appointments and procedures over the next two months before he will be listed as "active" and they can start processing those of you that submitted the living donor information.
He is eligible for Medicare and SSI disability, and we have applied but that is a process in itself but will help tremendously when it comes through as he is not working, and his dialysis schedule and side effects will make it pretty impossible.
Again thank you for everything, just continue to pray and send positive thoughts and vibes our way.
For those of you that keep asking what you can do or get for us, we do still have an Amazon Wishlist that I'm continuously updated during this training with stuff we will need or will.make our lives easier. Once we get started with in home dialysis, I will let my mom do a meal train as it's more likely that we will be home and the diet is a little more flexible.

Thanks for all the love,
Greg, Stacy and Michelle
